They said it at the arrival of the first Volkswagen Up! and now they are saying it again with the arrival of the second version of the concept car that debut at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show last week. Volkswagen executives are saying that the Volkswagen Space Up! concept car could be sold in the U.S. within in the next two years.

When Volkswagen revealed the first version of the Volkswagen Up! at Frankfurt in September, Adrian Hallmark, executive vice president of Volkswagen of America, said that it would come to the U.S. as ‘a perfect competitor to the Smart.’

Now, Ulrich Hackenberg, head of technical development at Volkswagen, is saying that the Volkswagen Space Up! is better suited for the U.S. Measuring 3.68 meters length and 1.63 meters width and with 1,005 liters of cargo space, the Volkswagen Space Up! will definitely be the people-mover in Volkswagen’s ‘New Small Family’ lineup.

The Space Up!, is said to be a major hint that the iconic Camper, or Bulli (Microbus) is making a comeback.
