Audi A5 3.0 TDI V6 averages 37 mpg in UK test!

The folks at MSN Cars UK got a chance to drive the new Audi A5 3.0 TDI and supposedly averaged an amazing fuel-economy. Even if it’s a diesel car, who would think that the 3.0 liter TDI V6 turbo-engine that produces 240 horsepower would get good fuel-economy.

Well the MSN guys averaged and outstanding 37 mpg with the A5 3.0 TDI, and with aggressive driving those figures came down to 33 mpg. They said that the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder TDI also seems likely to join the A5 range and should do over 50 mpg.

While we won’t be getting this variant in the U.S., the 3.0 liter TDI V6 will be available for us in the new Touareg and the new Audi A4 in 2008. Come on Audi, gives us the A5 as well. Please?
