Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 shows up at Laguna Seca

This weekend at the Laguna Seca Raceway, GM decided to show a prototype of the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (previously known as the Corvette SS, Blue Devil, Z07). Onlookers said that the ZR-1 rolled out of its trailer, hung out for a bit and hit the track for a quick run. GM then put the car back in its trailer.

The folks at WindingRoad were there and were able to snap a few pics of the car. The Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is expected to be powered by a 6.2 liter V8 engine that will produce 650 horsepower. Rumors say it may even produce up to 700 horsepower. The car is expected to make its official debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January.
