Even after the trip was completed the 17 gallon tank had 1.8 gallons left over. The Nissan Qashqai averaged 67.35 mpg during the whole trip which is 29 percent better than the 52.3 mpg stated in the brochure.

Nissan said that its test drivers followed speed limits maintained a cruising speed of 60 mph. The trip was a part of Nissan’s efforts to raise awareness about its products and their efficiency. According to Nissan the Qashqai emitted an average 111g/km of CO2, as compared to the 145g/km stated in the brochure

The Nissan Qashqai was designed and produced in Europe and has already sold more than 70,000 units since its launch early this year.
