2007 SEMA Show: 2009 Toyota Corolla S3

2009 Toyota Corolla S3

Toyota today released the 10th generation Toyota Corolla at the 2007 SEMA Show in the form of a tuned Corolla S3. When the car hits dealerships in February 2008, it will come in five trim levels – Standard, LE, XLE, the sporty S, and the performance-driven XRS.

The 2009 Toyota Corolla will be available in two engine variants including a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 132 horsepower and a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower.

2007 SEMA Show: Ryan Shutt’s 2006 Honda Civic

East cost car builder Ryan Shutt’s 2006 Honda Civic is being shown at the 2007 SEMA Show. Powertrain modification include a Garrett 13 T4 custom turbo kit by RCT performance, Vibrant intercooler and piping, Top Fuel exhaust water neo and fuel neo and a Turbo Smart blow off valve.

Performance is further enhanced by Eibach ground control coil over and shocks, SSBC brakes, Dunlop Direzza tires and SPC control arms.

To give it a more aggressive look, Ryan added his very own Custom Audios Originals body kit, Tourren front bumper, Speed Design custom graphics and a carbon fiber hood, roof and trunk. Interior modifications include OMP seats 2 Polk Audio DB series 5 in the front pillars, 6 Polk Audio DB series 5 in the trunk lid with Eclipse TV’s and suede and carbon fiber accents throughout.

Fisker releases first image of its 100mpg plug-in hybrid

Fisker releases first image of its 100mpg plug-in hybrid

Fisker has released the first picture of its upcoming four-door plug-in hybrid premium sports sedan that will make its official debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Fisker will start selling the car in the 4th quarter of 2009 with an annual production projected for 15,000.

The car doesn’t have a name yet, but as you can see from the picture above it will be based on the new Maserati GranTurismo. Fisker says that the car can do 50 miles alone on pure electric charge. The Fisker four-door hybrid will come in a gasoline or diesel variant delivering more than 620 miles. According to Fisker, the car will also get an amazing 100 mpg.

Unlike the Hyundai Elantra “Beach Cruiser” Concept, which really didn’t really get us all that excited, the Hyundai Elantra INCUS seemed to be gathering a lot of attention from the crowd. Developed by Hyundai in collaboration with sister company INCUS, the Hyundai Elantra INCUS is pimped out with original Hyundai accessories.

On the outside, the Hyundai INCUS gets an INCUS two-tone color body kit with a custom made mesh grille. Inside, the car sports a custom color-coordinated interior, custom performance-oriented steering wheel, electroluminescent door sills and an Infinity audio system.

Performance wise INCUS fitted the Elantra with a new suspension kit, dual exhaust kit and an AEM air intake system. The Hyundai Elantra INCUS rides on 17-inch forged alloy wheels.

While we were hanging outside of SEMA yesterday, we came across the Toyota Hybrid stand. There we saw this amazing tuned Toyota Camry Hybrid Limited, otherwise known as CHiL.

The Toyota CHiL is tuned with a new front bumper, side skirts and a deck spoiler by Five Axis. Also on the outside, you’ll find McCulloch HID lamps, a glowing Toyota emblem in the front and a two-toned paint job. Inside the CHiL is a complete entertainment package with  2 handheld Vaio PCs integrated into the headrests, Wireless Internet (WiFi/EVDO) and a 12 inch JBL Subwoofer

The car rides on 19 inch Rays Engineering forged wheels with Yokohama 45 series tires and Sprint Suspension coil rings.

With all this pimpness you get 40mpg.

2007 SEMA Show: Honda One Lap Odyssey with 400hp

Here is a quicker way for all you soccer moms to get your kids to their games on time. Honda has debuted the new “One Lap Odyssey” at the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas after winning its class in Car and Driver magazine’s 2007 Cannonball One Lap of America.

The “One Lap Odyssey” was produced by a team of dedicated associates from Honda Manufacturing of Alabama. The fully customized Odyssey sports a modified engine with a custom-built turbo charger, a six-speed manual transmission a track-tuned suspension, competition roll cage. The van-turned-racer produces close to 400 horsepower.

Nissan has announced a new concept for the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January. The Nissan FORUM Concept, which Nissan says is the next-generation of family transportation, offers sliding doors and no B-pillars.

Chrysler to build only 5,000 2008 Dodge Challenger SRTs

Its official launch is still months away, but one has already been sold on eBay for $175,407. We’re talking about the all new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT which will be unveiled at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show in February.

According to Automotive News, Dodge will only have a 5,000-car limited run for the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT. The Dodge Challenger SRT is powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine, and a five-speed automatic transmission with Autostick.

Along with the hot Honda Accord HF-S Concept, Honda showed the 2008 Civic MUGEN Si at the 2007 SEMA Show. The Honda Civic MUGEN Si sedan is powered by a 2.0 liter VTEC 4-cylinder engine that produces a total 197 horsepower mated with a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission.

The 2008 Civic MUGEN Si Sedan, which is limited to a 1,000 units per year, will start at an MSRP of $29,500.

Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 GT revealed

Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 GT

British motor racing specialists RML Group have unveiled the new Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 GT. Made exclusively for the track, the SLR 722 GT has been re-engineered by RML with a upgraded suspenstion, aerodynamics, braking system, interior and exhaust system.

Powered by a supercharged AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine the SLR 722 GT produces 680 horsepower. 0-62 takes 3.3 sconds with a top speed of 195 mph.

Production is limited 21 units where servicing and participation in racing events will be taken care of by RML.

2007 SEMA Show: Hyundai Elantra “Beach Cruiser” Concept

Hyundai today unveiled the new Elantra Touring “Beach Cruiser” concept at the 2007 SEM SHOW. The car was customized by K-Daddyz Kustomz of Bakersfield, California and was derivced from the all-new five-door Elantra Touring.

K-Daddyz Kustomz added a striking two-tone paint including Amazing Grape and Tango Orange. Also on the outside, you’ll find a new grille by Ryno Manufacturing, 20-inch Konig Rolf Blix 3 wheels, Dunlop Sport Maxx tires and MagnaFlow dual exhaust pipes.

On the inside K-Daddyz added two-tone leather by Classic Soft Trime, Billet speaker grilles to match exterior grilles, Infinity Audio system, Titanium video system and Custom fiberglass speaker enclosure by Hard Core Audio.

Ford today unveiled the new 2008 Sport Trac Adrenalin at the 2007 SEMA Show. The 4×4 is inspired by the Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept shown at the 2007 New York Auto Show.

“The new Sport Trac Adrenalin is designed to appeal to the urban adventurer,” said Ryan Mitton, Sport Trac marketing manager. “It still offers up the functionality and capability that Sport Trac is known for, while boosting the style factor.”

The Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin was shown at SEMA with the Colorado Red paint job. Other color choices are White Suede, Black and Silver Birch Metallic. Adrenalin will be in dealer showrooms in early January with an MSRP of $30,495.
