Spies recently caught the Mercedes SL AMG Black Series prototype during around the roads outside of Nurburgring while it was making its final preparations before track for some high-speed testing.

Here are the latest spy shots (from CarMagazine) of the Mercedes SL AMG Black Series making its rounds at the Nurburgring, as engineers test what is said to be a V12 bi-turbo under the hood of the car. A 6.2 liter V8 is also said to be a possibility. The car will join the SLK 55 AMG and the CLK 63 AMG in Mercedes Black Series lineup.

We don’t expect to see the car until the 2009 Mercedes SL 63 AMG model arrives with a new facelift.
