At first glance this may seem like the Volkswagen Polo. When in reality this is really a prototype for the upcoming Audi A1. According to our friends at CarMagazine the Audi A1 is pinned directly at BMW’s MINI Cooper and will be priced at €16,000.
The Audi A1 is expected to come in four different variants including a three-door hatchback, a five-door and a coupe and convertible. Power is expected to come from a 1.4 liter engine that will produce up to 170 horsepower. An S1 variant is expected that will produce upwards of 200 horsepower. A 1.6 diesel variant is also on the drawing board.
A concept version of the Audi A1 will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show followed by the production version which will appear in Audi dealerships in late 2009.
