As we countdown the days to the Tokyo Motor Show for the official unveiling of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Car and Driver keeps entertained with a complete test drive review of the car in their November Issue.
According to the Car and Driver article, both the Japanese base-level GSR and upper-level MR are rated at 295 hp with 300 pounds-feet of torque. The base-level GSR is expected to be priced at $30,000. The MR however will get a new dual-clutch sequential gearbox and will be priced a bit higher than the GSR.
Also new is a an all-wheel-drive system with a power split of 50/50 to the front and rear wheels, but up to 80% can be sent to either the front or rear wheels. While all that sounds good, the new EVO falls short in the 0-60 time as compared to its predecessor. The new Mitsubishi EVO does 0-60 am in 5.0 seconds. However the car is said to have a better grip and handling than the outgoing model.
