Land Rover small SUV to take on Audi Q3, BMW X3, Mercedes GLK
While we don’t know much about the upcoming small SUV that Land Rover showed a teaser image of at Frankfurt last week, we do know that the crossover will fit below the Freelander.
According to Automotive News, who spoke with Phil Popham, Managing Director of Land Rover, the small unnamed SUV will be Land Rover’s answer to the upcoming Audi Q3, Mercedes GLK and the BMW X3.
However Popham was quick to mention that the car is only a concept at the moment, which will make its debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. “This is a statement of intent about a new direction that Land Rover wants to go in, about sportiness and low C02 emissions.”
From the teaser image you can see that this small SUV concept will be more curvaceous than other Land Rovers with steeping roof line like the X6.
