Fisker goes green: New plug-in hybrid coming to Detroit in 2008

Fisker and Quantum Technologies today announced that they will be collaborating on a joint venture to produce a range of environmentally friendly premium cars. The first production car will be unveiled at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January with initial production expected to be 15,000 units annually. Pricing will start under $100,000.

Fisker and Quantum are currently developing the first production car that will feature cutting-edge plug-in hybrid technology called Quantum drive.

We are extremely excited to join our automotive design expertise with the plug-in hybrid technology of Quantum in Quantum Drive. This breakthrough chassis development will allow us to deliver a design with dramatic proportions ““ one which will carry the Fisker badge,” expressed Henrik Fisker, CEO of Fisker.

Henrik Fisker is known for his creations such as the BMW Z8 Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. His new privately owned company, Fisker Automotive, is reponsbile for the Tramonto and Latigo CS.
