Report: Honda Stream coming to U.S. in 2009

According to WindingRoad’s sources, Honda is planning to send its popular Honda Stream to the United States in 2009. While the Honda Odyssey may be the best minivan in the U.S., Honda sees a market for a smaller variant that is cheaper and gets better gas mileage.

The Honda Stream has been available in Japan since 2000 where it gets two gasoline direct-injection variants. We did some of our own research and found out that the hot minivan will in fact be offered internationally in two different specs.

The lower-end spec will feature the R18A 1.8 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The higher-end spec called the Stream RS-Z will feature the R20A 2.0 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine equipped with a CVT transmission.
