Plug-in Toyota Prius coming to Japan in 2 years

As reported at the end of July, Toyota has begun testing of a plug-in Toyota Prius and will become the first manufacturer to have it certified for use on public roads in Japan.

AutoExpress is now reported that the The Toyota Plug-in HV will be on the Japanese market within 2 years. Toyota engineers have said that they’ve improved the battery-alone mileage from 2 to 8 miles.

Toyota is planning to test a total of eight units of the Toyota plug-in HV in Japan. The plug-in Prius is expected to make it to the US in the same time frame.
