Fiat planning Abarth only models?

Abarth was an Italian racing aut maker founded by Austrian Karl Abarth in Turin in 1949. In the 1960s Abarth enjoyed a successful run in races against the Porsche 904 and the Ferrari Dino, winning the 500km Nurburgring in 1963.

The Abarth name and tuning division was sold to Fiat in 1971, while the racing team was sold to Enzo Osella. Ever since then, we have yet to see a true Abarth only model. Well that’s about to change. According to Caridisiac, Fiat could be producing an Abarth only model lineup.

Director of Fiat, Luca De Meo, says that if that plan does go through, we can see different Abarth variants such as a roadster seen here, the Abarth SS Concept by IED.

Of course there is no possibility of seeing these in the United States.
