Photo Rendering: 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class will receive a facelift when the 2009 model arrives. Usually, Mercedes gives the SL a pretty long lifecycle so we’re not expecting a total redesign until 2011. So what will you see in 2009 for the SL-Class?

Well according to our new photo renderings of the SL 63 AMG, and these latest spy shots by our friends at CarMagazine, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class will get a major facelift to the front design of the car, with the headlights taking design cues from the Mercedes CLS-Class. The rear design will hardly be touched, but will be cleaned up a little.

For the first time, the Mercedes SL-Class is expected to carry the direct injection 3.5 liter V6 engine first seen in the Mercedes CLS last year. The pricing for that variat is expected to be £65,000 ($131,663). The SL 55 AMG will now become the SL 63 AMG sporting a 6.2 liter V8 engine producing over 600 horsepower.
