Our friends over at CarMagazine have received, what they say, are official design sketches of the Audi A1. They have obtained three sketches that were smuggled out of Audi’s Ingolstadt design headquarters.

Audi is supposedly planning four different A1 variants, including a three door hatch, five door hatch, two door coupe and a convertible variant. The Audi A1 is expected to debut with quattro four-wheel drive. Five different engine versions are planned including a 65, 85, 105, 140 and 170 horsepower engine. All will be a version of a 1.4 liter petrol. A 1.6 dieseil version is also in the work.

However, if Audi makes an Audi S1, that will be powered by a 200 horsepower engine in the 2 liter range.

Audi has plans of making 100,000 A1s for the first full year of production in 2010 with prices expected to begin at €16,000 ($21,923).
