Before Mercedes was just planning to bring the B-Class to the US, but now its is confirmed. According to a top US executive at DaimlerChrysler, Mercedes will be designing a version of its next-generation B-Class for sale in the United States.
Ernst Lieb said that the redesign of the B-Class which is due in 2011 or 2012 will have a prototype that will include a model to meet US requirements.
One major factor Mercedes needs to consider is whether or not customers in the US will be interested in a car which is smaller than the Mercedes C-Class. Younger customers who have been in Europe and driven the car (B-Class) as a rental car are very open to it. The more traditional Mercedes customer is a little hesitant.
