Sad News: No Audi A3 Convertible for US

Well we think this all depends on whether or not BMW will bring the 1-Series convertible to the US, but so far Audi has no plans on bring the Audi A3, which makes its debut at next year’s Geneva show, to the United States.

According to Fortitude, a top source at Audi has confirmed to them that the soft top will not come to the US. Supposedly, the car shares too much with the current three-door A3, which was never developed for US sale in the first place.

The A3 convertible is expected to make its debut at next year”s Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale in the summer of 2008. Audi has announced that it has picked its Gyor plant in Hungary to produce its A3 Convertible from 2008.

A complete new generation of the Audi A3 is expected in 2010, which will have three variants including a coupe, 3-door hatchback as well as a convertible.
