According to WindingRoad, Mazda has an Mazdaspeed version of the Mazda2 ready to be unleashed. Expected to hit the market in 2008, the Mazda2 MPS will be powered by a 2.0 liter DISI, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine producing 230 horsepower.

The engine will be matted with a six-speed transmission. Expect it to show up at the Tokyo Auto Show. No info on whether it’ll show up in US.

The Mazda2 will come in three gasoline engines including a two 1.3 liter producing 75 HP and 84 horsepower and a 1.5-liter with an producing 103 horsepower.
