Audi TT-S not coming to Frankfurt

Unfortunately, the much anticipated new Audi TT-S will not be showing up at Frankfurt this September. Instead, sources say that the car has been pushed to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. No idea why Audi would make a move like this other than it wants to capture some of the China/Japan market.

The Audi TT-S is expected to carry a toned down version of the 2.0 liter found in the current S3 producing 300 horsepower. The car is expected to have a six speed transmission.

There is also word of a Audi TT-RS in the works which is expected to sport a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine that will produce 365 horsepower.

Audi showed the first TT concept in Tokyo back in the 90′s. Maybe they just want to continue the tradition.
