Photo Rendering: Sixth-Generation VW Golf

The sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf was caught testing in California over the weekend wearing light disguise in the front and rear. With the surfacing of those spy shots of the next Volkswagen Golf, we bring you these photo renderings based on that prototype.

As seen in these photo renderings, the six-generation Volkswagen Golf will get a new front grille and EOS style headlights. In the back, the next Golf will carry over the roofline and glasshouse to save money.

When it goes on sale in late 2008 or early 2009, the Golf will carry over some current engine specs. A new 1.4 liter TSI turbocharger that produces 150 horsepower will join the lineup. The 200 horsepower GTI and 250 horsepower R32 will be carried over, although that will be replaced by a 300 horsepower R36 by the end of the decade.

Spy Shots: Lexus RX350 to get longer wheelbase

While at first glance, this prototype may look like the regular Lexus RX350, but after a closer look you’ll start noticing some differences. Since Lexus will be introducing an all new LX570 for the 2008 model year, the new RX350 won’t be scheduled until 2009.

The first thing you’ll notice from these latest spy shots is that the RX350 will be getting slightly longer and wider with hardly any radical changes to the overall design. The Lexus RX350 is expected to keep its 5-passenger seating since buyers can opt for bigger Lexus SUVs if they need the space. The SUV is expected to carry over the current engine specs as well as the hybrid variants.

Head over to WorldCarFans for all the spy shots.
