Volkswagen announces updates to 2008 lineup

Volkswagen yesterday announced changes to its 2008 lineup. Highlights included a 20 horsepower increase to the Jetta and Rabbit which will now get a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower with 177 lb-ft of torque.

The 2008 Volkseagen GTI received a 15mm ride height reduction on all 2 and 4 door models as well as a new trim level called GTI Autobahn. Sirius Satellite Radio is also now standard on all GTI models.

The 2008 Volkswagen Touareg gets a new front-end design, darkened taillights, and a new more comfortable suspension has replaced the sports suspension on the VR6 FSI variant.

Prices were not announced with the changes.
