US auto sales will bounce back, Big 3 may not

According to a forecast by Global Insight, the US auto market will pick up pace next year. Sales will begin to rise after taking a dip in 2007. They won’t pass 17 million, which was last seen in 2001, until 2010.

While overall US auto sales will rise, Detroit’s Big 3 market share will continue to slide in the coming years as international auto makers begin to catch up.

It won’t be until 2010 that sales will begin climbing to 17.7 million.
