Volkswagen Golf GTI W12: 641 horsepower

Seems like Volkswagen is really taking the Wörthersee Tour this year very seriously. Yesterday they unveiled the new Audi TT Clubsport quattro and today the German company revealed the ultimate Golf GTI. Taking the 6.0 liter W12 engine from the Phaeton and adding twin-turbochargers, Volkswagen created a GTI that is capable of producing 641 horsepower giving it performance that is up to par with the Porsche 911 Turbo.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI W12 has the ability to go from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 323 km/h (201 mph). Of course they couldn’t fit an engine that big in the front so they mounted it behind the front seats and matted it with a DSG gearbox.

We want one. Now.
