It seems that the Japanese auto makers are not playing around anymore. Toyota just recently stole the number one spot from GM and now Honda has stolen the Ford Explorer’s best selling SUV title with its CR-V. Honda is now looking to expand supplies of the compact SUV, after sales went up 42 percent to 64,591 this year.
The 2007 Honda CR-V gets an average 26.3 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving, while the Ford Explorer gets 17.5.
Toyota’s RAV4 held the number two spot 2 in US sales this year while Ford’s Escape came in third.
