2008 Saturn Vue to offer two hybrid powertrains

When the 2008 Saturn Vue becomes available in the second quarter of 2007, it will be offered with two hybrid options, both carrying Saturn’s Green Line badge. According to Automotive News, GM confirmed last week that the Vue crossover will be its first vehicle with a front-wheel-drive version of its Two Mode hybrid transmission.
The 2008 Saturn Vue Green Line is expected to offer an EPA rating of 29 mpg in the city and about 40 mpg on the highway, a 45 percent increase over the gasoline powered Saturn Vue. The Two Mode hybrid transmission allows the Saturn Vue Green Line to be driven at low speeds on electric power alone.
The new redesigned and re-engineered 2008 Saturn Vue will start at a base price of $21,395, an increase of $3,295 over the outgoing model. The Green Line variant is expected to cost an additional $3,000 to $4,000.
