Porsche spending more than planned to produce Panamera

It seems Porsche needs to spend a little more money than it planned on the Panamera. The company will be spending a quarter more than it had originally planned in order expand its Leipzig plant where it will begin producing the four-dour Porsche Panamera coupe next year.

While there is no official word on the specs of the Panamera the four-door coupe is expected to have a V6 engine producing up to 300 horsepower and a V8 engine producing up to 350 horsepower. Another V8 twin-turbo engine is also expected producing up to 560 horsepower for the “˜S” model.

The car will be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show with 20,000 units scheduled per year.
