'Nappy headed hoes' remark gets Imus blue balled as GM pulls out early

It’s funny how one stupid and thoughtless comment can get your popular show pulled off the air after huge advetisers, like GM pull there ads. Don Imus should’ve thought twice before making racist remarks towards the Rutgers women basketball team, calling them “nappy headed hoes.” Now since most of the show’s biggest advertisers like, General Motors, said that they no longer want to run their ads during the show, NBC has decided to cancel broadcasting ‘Imus in the morning’ altogether.

The Imus show was suspended for two weeks starting this past Monday. The media company said Wednesday they will no longer run the who and will continue to assess the situation and apologize to the women of the Rutgers basketball team.

The only reason that “nappy headed hoes” caused such a ruckus is that Imus is white. Period. That very phrase appears in many many rap songs. If a black person had said it on the radio, there would have been -zero- backlash from it.

On a similar note, why is “nappy headed hoes” taboo to say on the air, but “gringo” is perfectly ok. ( gringo is a Spanish term, a derogatory term for white folks. )
