Maserati wants to bring Alfa Romeo 8C to United States

Of the 500 being built, with 70 already sold out in Japan, Maserati is hoping to bring back the Alfa Romeo brand back to the US market with the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. At the 2007 New York Auto Show, Jim Selwa, head of Maserati in the US, told TheCarConnection that the company will bring the 450 horsepower, $200,000 car to the United States. While the biggest obstacle is the 8C Competizione meeting tough US emissions and safety standards, Selwa said “Sometime” in 2008 is as close as he can say about the release date.

We definitely think it’ll be very late in 2008 and may even get pushed to 2009, since the first set of delivers are to start in 2009.
