Volvo getting rid of 'R' models after 2007

Volvo will be getting rid of its ‘R’ badged performance cars at the end of 2007. The company will stop producing the slow selling ‘R’ models, which currently include S60R and V70R, due to slow sales and the low return it’s getting from the investment. While U.S. sales of the ‘R’ models were the highest of any country, Doug Speck, Executive Vice President of Volvo, told Automotive News. “…the investment to make for that side of business, for the return we get, just wasn’t good enough.”
