Hyundai dealers to learn how to sell luxury cars

Seems like Hyundai is really serious about targeting the upper-class, not only in the United Stated but in Europe as well. Two weeks ago Hyundai said that it is planning a luxury car for the United States, set to debut in 2008, which will sit right above the Hyundai Azera. Now, Hyundai will spend the next 12 months teaching its European dealerships and distribution network how to sell a upper-class, luxury Hyundai brand in Europe.

“This is the first part of moving the brand more up-market,” Roland Schaaf, Hyundai Motor Europe’s brand manager, told Automotive News Europe

Since the production version of the Hyundai Genesis concept is set to debut in 2008, 12 months should be enough to teach salesmen how to get rich folks to spend their $30,000 on a Hyundai. The Hyundai Genesis concept has a 4.6 liter V8 engine that allows it to produce 300 horsepower, giving it the ability to get from 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds with an eigh-speed transmission.
