Chrysler: LaSorda says answer will come quickly, while Daimler hopes retaining Mercedes ties

According the Wall Street Journal, Chrysler’s CEO, Tom LaSorda, told dealers at the Florida meeting that the issue of the company’s future ownership will not drag on much longer. On the other hand, Daimler is talking to potential buyers saying that it wants to continue Chrysler’s alliance with Mercedes-Benz. Chrysler currently shares components and engineering with Mercedes-Benz on such cars like the Chrysler 300 which is based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The final decision on Chrysler’s future is expected to be announced by the end of this month.
