At the end of February, we brought you news that Lutz hinted at a ultra-luxury Cadillac for 2009 to a journalist at the Chicago Auto Show. Lutz has now confirmed to German magazine AutoWeek that they are indeed working on a V12 ultra-luxury Cadillac with rear-wheel drive that will compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS and will make its debut in 2009.

The Cadillac Sixteen Concept could hint at what direction Cadillac may take with an ultra-luxury model since it was suggested to go into production in 2009 with a variant of a V8 and V12 when it made its debut in 2003.

Lutz, stated that the rear-wheel-drive platform of the new Chevrolet Camaro, also set to debut in 2009, could be used for an ultra-luxury Cadillac model.
