Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid coming in 2010

GM has set the target date for the production of an all-electric plug-in hybrid car for 2010, said Lutz yesterday at the Geneva Motor Show. It was reported in early February that GM will get some help from it’s European division, Opel, to help build a production version of the Chevrolet Volt.

Lutz stated one of the major obstacle faceing the production of the Chevrolet Volt was whether lithium-ion batteries can be developed to power it. But now he’s saying that working production version of the Volt concept will be ready by the end of 2007.
