Lotus 2-Eleven Unveiled: 0-60 in 3.8 seconds

Lotus Sport has unveiled the new Lotus 2-Eleven, a car that is not for the everyday driver but for those that are ready to take this 1,477 pounds car on the track. The Lotus 2-Eleven has a supercharged and intercooled 1796 cc engine that develops 252 horsepower, giving it the ability to do 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and 0-100 mph in 9.1 seconds.

The car comes in two versions including a road going version and a track only version. The road going version has exhaust catalysts, single panel rear wing and other items to make it street legal. The track going version is fitted with an aerodynamics package that includes high downforce single plane carbon fiber rear wing, high downforce front splitter, brake lights and rear indicators and FIA approved driver’s race seat. Brake system consists 2-piston calipers for the front wheels and Brembo single-piston calipers for the rear wheels.

Production of the Lotus 2-Eleven is scheduled to commence in April 2007. The Lotus 2-Eleven Launch Edition will begin at £39,995 in the U.K. The track only version is only available outside of the UK at 49,575 euros.
