Consumer Reports' Best of 2007

Consumer Reports announced their Top 10 picks of 2007 and for each class all are Japanese makes. Of course, Honda and Toyota dominated the list overall. To be a ‘Top Pick’, a vehicle must score at or near the top of its category in Consumer Reports’ testing, must have at least average reliability and must perform well in government and Insurance Institute crash tests.

We’re sure reliability was taken into account so that’s why the American and German cars didn’t show up on the list. While most consumer’s care about reliability, we care about the drive. Either way, we can’t disagree to much with the list but we believe that the Luxury Sedan should’ve gone to the Acura RL hands down.

• Fun To Drive: Mazda MX-5 Miata
• Small SUV: Toyota RAV4
• Small Sedan: Honda Civic
• Family Sedan: Honda Accord
• Minivan: Toyota Sienna
• Luxury Sedan: Infiniti M45
• Midsized SUV: Toyota Highlander Hybrid
• Green Car: Toyota Prius
• Upscale sedan: Infiniti G35
• Budget Car: Honda Fit
