While Mercedes is still playing hide-and-seek with its new and upcoming compact SUV and still covering it up from spiers, the company has reportedly set output of the the upcoming GLK at 83,000 per year, reports Automotive News. Since the BMW X3 has already had a 4 year headstart in this class, Mercedes is wasting no time in making the GLK available to whoever wants to get their hands on it.

Mercedes-Benz will introduce the new GLK SUV in early 2008 with a 2.0 liter standard all-wheel drive and will eventually have a 2.2-liter turbodiesel that produces 204 horsepower the following year.
