A report by AutoTelegraaf is saying that Volkswagen has confirmed its “R” badged Touareg. The “R” Touareg will stand next to the gasoline powered Passat R36 and the Golf R32 but will have a 4.9 liter V10 TDI diesel engine. The SUV is expected to be called the R50 following the Passat and the Golf.

Currently, Volkswagen’s Individual tuning company has a “R” package, which is pictured above, giving us a hint at what the official “R” Touareg will look like.
