Winterkorn earlier last week announced that the redesign for the next generation Golf will be delayed by at least six months. Now in a recent speech to his staff, the Volkswagen CEO announced plans for a Golf Hybrid variant. Congratulating his staff on the hard work put into recent Volkswagen models and the company’s success due to the Golf model, he said that the hybrid technology should be used in all models, especially the Golf, and not just in the Passat, Tiguan, Jetta, Touareg or Audi Q7.

We will probably see an official production version by the end of this year.

I agree… all cars should have hybrid technology! It is better for everyone with exception to the evil oil companys/terrorists

Hopefully it will be a diesel hybrid. VW’s had these in experimental form for nearly a decade.
