Ford Edge not selling so well

It’s only been two months since the 2007 Ford Edge crossover went on sale and Ford is already putting an incentive for buyers on the car. Ford has decided to put a $500 incentive, paid directly to dealers to use at their discretion, on the entry-level SE model. Automotive News reports that is Ford also offering bonuses to dealership sales consultants that can reach $500.

Take that obnoxious commercial off the air to start. The jingle is irritating the male and female actors look incredibly pompous. Gee, no wonder why the vehicle is not selling, the first introduction via the ad is totally turning off the customers.

The small incentive is to keep the mix of vehicles sold within targets. Ford has been selling too many of the loaded AWD SEL versions and wants a better mix of SE and SEL models. Overall sales of Edge are above forecast.

In it’s second month Ford Edge has earned 12.6% of the midsize CUV marktet passing the Toyota Highlander (11.3%). Only the Nissan Murano has a larger share at 12.7%. This article is total misinformation. Also, the Ford Edge Residuals are class leading at 51% at 3 years. Better than the Murano and Highlander.
