Mercedes-Benz Jan sales rise 6.9 percent

Mercedes-Benz said on Tuesday that the company’s January sales rose 6.9 percent with 77,700 units sold including Smart. Mercedes-Benz brand cars sold 73,500 units with a growth of 13.9 percent due to the demand of the S-Class and E-Class sedans.

“Overall sales of Mercedes-Benz brand vehicles in the luxury segment rose 43 percent in January to 8,500 units,” it said, noting S-Class deliveries had risen “significantly”, while E-Class sales gained 13 percent to 15,600 units.

SUV sales gained a third to 12,400 units.
