Just months after discontinuing it, Ford will now bring back the Ford Taurus name and will give it to the slow selling Mercury Five Hundred sedan. “We never should have walked away from the equity we had built up in the Taurus and Sable nameplate,” Mark Fields, president of Ford’s Americas unit, said in a speech at the Chicago auto show.

Allan Mulally, Ford’s new CEO, has questioned the company executives on numerous occasions about why the company decided to drop its best selling name. Well we’re happy someone smart is finally heading Ford.
