BMW bringing diesels to US with new X5 in mid-2008

Mark your calendars. BMW will be bringing their first diesel to North America in mid-2008. WindingRoad is reporting that the new BMW X5 3.0d will come to our highways by mid-2008. The BMW X5 3.0d has a 3.0 liter direct-injection diesel engine that produces 245 horsepower with 384 lb-ft of torque giving it the ability to do 0-60 in 8.2 seconds. The diesel SUV gets 21 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
