GM and Toyota owners are most loyal

While everyone is talking about Toyota taking over the big three, it seems GM customers are more loyal to the GM brands than Toyota’s. R.L. Polk announced its 2007 Automotive Loyalty Awards and the honor went to the brand that retained the most customers in 2006. GM was on top with a rate of 61.4% against an average of 43.5% for all US brands while Toyota came in second with 57.7% loyalty against an average of 47.6% for all Asian brands.

Others on the list include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the Prestige Luxury Car segment, Toyota Prius for the midsize car segment, Ford F-Series for the full-size pickup truck segment and the Lexus RX for the midsize SUV segment. Check out the chart below.

GM is doing a great job. They have been slow in the past sometimes in new car releases. They still must improve on their image or how people perceive their cars. They do make fuel efficient cars in some classes better than Toyota.
