Audi Ditching

Audi has always been trying its best to catch up to BMW and Mercedes in the US, where its seems to be viewed at a lower level than the two luxury leaders in the US. While the marketing campaign of a humble auto maker in the Europe serves it well, Audi understands that in the US it must give the audience a more bolder and stronger image. As a part of the restructured marketing campaign that will launch in April in the US Audi will be getting rid of its “Never Follow” slogan.

“You have to be bold to be noticed in America — certainly bolder and more aggressive than we’ve been,” said Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president at Audi of America.

I always believed Audi's never Follow Campaign was strong. Even stronger is the “Never Rest on Your Laurels part”, of their campaign. Obviously they aren't.
Reference comments that Audi is a “lower class car” as compared to Mercedes & BMW, would be in part attributed to it's relationship to Volkswagon. Of course those that have driven an Audi, or better yet crashed it around a slalom course know that these are truly superior cars, irregardless of their relationship.
