Automotive News is reporting that BMW is preparing their South Carolina assembly line to build around 40,000 vehicles of the new and confirmed BMW X6 SUV. It’s odd that BMW has already decided the number of vehicles they will built without even releasing any details of the SUV before hand or even some kind of concept version.
The South Carolina plant currently builds the BMW X5 and the Z4 roadster. BMW’s CEO Tom Purves is saying that the new BMW X6 will smaller than the Mercedes R-Class and will have capacity for 5 adults. Automotive News is saying that the X6 will be priced right above $50,000 and will be in dealerships in early 2008.
