Saab 9-1 to take on BMW 1-Series, Audi A3 & Volvo C30

It seems Saab is in the process to make a new compact hatcback in order to compete with the BMW 1-Seires, Audi A3 and the Volvo C30. Teknikens Varld, a Swedish publication is reporting that the Saab 9-1 that Saab’s managing director Jan-Ake-Jonsson told a Swedish newspaper that Saab is in the first stages of developing the 9-1 hatcback and it should be based on the same platform as the Opel Astra.
