Ford Explorer to Become a Crossover

Bloomberg is reporting that Ford will no longer be making a large version of the popular Ford Explorer SUV. The report said that the next-generation Ford Explorer will now be in a crossover version and will be built on the Volvo XC90 platform. As consumers shift towards smaller and more compact vehicles, Ford feels that changing its icon SUV into a crossover will help boost sales. Ford will also use the new platform for the Ford Five Hundred, Escape and Freestyle.
