Land Rover Thinking of V8 LR2
Land Rover just launched the new 2008 LR2 and is now looking to give the new LR2 a V8 engine. Since the new Land Rover LR2 uses a chassis and other components that would enable easy integrating of a V8 engine, Land Rover may go ahead with the swap of its current inline-6 with Yamaha’s 4.4 liter V8 engine. If Land Rover makes the change, it will give the current 230 horsepower LR2 a total of 311 horsepower with 325 lb-ft of torque. The biggest obstacle, Land Rover says, is pricing. The company is thinking of what the demand for a more powerful LR2 is and if it is worth the cost of development.
