Pontiac Solstice Coupe In the Works

Winding Road got a chance to sit with Bob Lutz and ask him if GM had a Pontiac Solstice Coupe in the works, to which Bob Lutz responded:

That’s our thought. If we did it, it would look exactly like the Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept Car that we had at the ’02 show. Remember it? The orange one.” “It was always our intention to kind of do that… we just had to manage the investment on the Solstice the first time around. Adding a coupe bodystyle would be a very logical thing to do. It would also make it very good for racing, where it’s doing well any way.”

Winding Road also went on to ask if GM would consider a hard top convertible for the Ponitac Solstice Coupe and Bob Lutz pointed to why that wouldn’t be a possibility. But if you really want a Pontiac Solstice convertible check out EDAG’s conversion kit for the Pontiac Solstice.

The Solstice convertable is one beautiful car; only out done by your concept coupe! Please build it. If you do I will be the first in line!
