According to the WSJ, Toyota is working on developing a cheap family car to compete with Renault’s Logan, a $7,000 car. Toyota is hoping that this vehicle will help it gain even more ground in competing markets where it is already scaring competitors GM and Ford on US ground. The car is expected to begin production in 2009 where it will be launched in China, Brazil and Thailand first. Toyota recently beat Ford as the world’s number two auto maker.
